Flooding Woes

Emergency officials in North Florida and South Georgia are gearing up for a flood.

The ground is saturated and rivers are on the rise.

A little more rain and some parts of the area will have some real problems. Anywhere from 4 – 7 inches of rain has fallen over the last week. Some roads have been flooded and many rivers are spilling over their banks. Rivers including Ochlockonee, The St. Marks, The Aucilla, The Withlacoochee, and the Sopchoppy are at or above flood stage.

Emergency officials say for now they are watching and waiting for Mother Nature’s next move. Last year at this time, eight and a half inches of rain caused widespread flooding.
