A little history was uncovered in Tallahassee before the cameras of a national film crew.
A crew with the PBS special, "History Detectives," was at Mission San Luis Tuesday, hoping to unravel the mystery of the crystal cross, found buried near a church on the grounds.
Apalachee Chief Gilmer Bennett was on hand giving insight into this history of the cross.
"It was a little over three feet deep, so I'm sure that it was buried with one of the people that was buried, which there were 800 of them buried in that church," says Bennett, who believes the cross, dated pre 1700's, belonged to someone high up in the ranks since it was discovered so close to the church.
