Archbold Gets High-Tech Scanner

A new high-tech machine allowing for proper medication administration will soon be in area hospitals.

For years, nurses at Thomasville's Archbold Hospital have been ordering, dispensing and administering patient medication manually, but as early as this summer, a new software program called MAC or Medication Administered Check, will be added to electronically monitor every aspect of the medication process.

The MAC system uses coded medications and coded patient armbands to track patients medicating history. Archbold is one of only a handful of Georgia hospitals to incorporate the new system.
