A North Florida lawmaker wants to reform Florida's funeral home industry.
State representative Don Brown and supporters of funeral reform gathered at the capitol Thursday. Their mission: to explain why Florida consumers needing funeral or cemetery services should be protected from predators in the death care industry.
Brown says if his bill is passed, the state will also set up a toll-free hotline for consumers to call if they are having problems with a funeral home, cemetery or crematorium.
