Poetry for Peace

Dozens of residents use lines of poetry to protest the pending war in Iraq. Instead of chanting and waving signs, about a dozen people turned out at Lake Ella to protest using their creativity. The Tallahassee Chapter of the National Organization of Women sponsored "Poetry for Peace."

Some artist read their own pieces, some choose the work of others to spread the message of peace.

"Poetry is a powerful way of expressing feelings and ideas, "said Linda Milkowitz, of the National Organization of Women. "That's what we are doing here today. There are other times for waving signs," Milkowitz added.

Besides spreading the message of peace the event also celebrated National Women's Day.
