A Tallahassee teenager is arrested for a string of smash and grabs on Tallahassee's south side.
Police say 17-year-old Roy Owens, Jr. is responsible for four burglaries early Tuesday morning. They say the first happened around 3 a.m. at the university Stop-n-Shop on South Adams Street.
Police say within an hour Owens burglarized three more convenience and grocery stores.
"From the grocery store, somebody saw the suspect walking away, we get behind him, he runs, they chase him over to Texas Street, find him laying down in a ditch trying to hide from us, gets arrested and charged with all four of the burglaries," said SGT Mark Meadows with the Tallahassee Police Department.
Police say in each incident the suspect used an instrument to break the glass. They say he stole items such as cigarettes, all items located near the fronts of the stores.
