After 40 years in education the president of Valdosta Technical College is stepping down.
James Bridges has been at Val Tech for 20-plus years. He says he's seen the place grow from a lone building to a flourishing campus.
President Bridges says one of the best things about his job is the people he can help.
"We can take those people in a year, no more then two, carry them from making minimum wage and slightly above minimum wage, to make a decent living for themselves, their family and their children."
President Bridges says he is thankful to everyone who has helped make Val Tech a better place over the years. Bridges' last day will be May 31.
