A longtime professor of Florida A&M University is being remembered this week by fellow Rattlers.
History professor Theodore Hemmingway died suddenly this week of a massive heart attack.
With the college since 1972, he was selected teacher of year the four times.
Dr. David Jackson worked along side Hemmingway, and calls him a great mentor and someone who was always willing to help others.
"Certainly he will be missed for some of his anecdotes and Whitty Humor, and some of the things he taught. I am going to personally carry on his legacy and continue to inspire students in the manner that he did," says Jackson.
This week, students held a special memorial and vigil for Hemmingway on campus. Friday, funeral services are scheduled at the Old West Primitive Baptist Church on Lake Bradford Road.
