Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings and others with Capitol news conference are launching the state’s third Annual Winds of Change campaign.
It uses pinwheels as a symbol, focusing on family education to prevent abuse.
“That child is vulnerable to poor health, poor educational opportunities, poor development; it’s something that you can never undo if you’ve missed that opportunity. A child who gets off to a poor start in life is obviously more prone to become an adult who makes poor decisions in life,” explains Jennings.
Legislators are promising to put an additional $11 million into Florida’s Healthy Families program in the coming year to reach parents in 14 more counties.
