It was the third annual Unity Bike Ride in honor of Tallahassee Police OFC Dale Green who was killed in the line of duty while responding to a service call.
About 140 participants rode down the St. Mark’s bike trail Saturday morning.
"We're just very, very pleased that so much of the community comes out, a lot of police officers, but I think far more just the community members coming out with their families and riding with us," says Deb Green, the wife of OFC Dale Green.
"I mean, it's not just for law enforcement to remember our friends, but it's for this community just to understand just like our military overseas, the law enforcement's here on the streets day in and day out," adds OFC Kelly Burke of the Tallahassee Police Department.
Entry fees from this unity ride will help pay for eight area officers to participate in the national "Ride to Remember."
