Library Privacy Law

Parents whose children check out books from the local public library may be surprised to learn about an embattled privacy law in Florida.

Parents are not allowed, by law, to see a list of the books and materials checked out by their children even though they are responsible for paying fines on any overdue material

One Florida senator finds that absurd and has filed a bill that would only require privacy protections for children age 16 and older. We'll let you know how the bill fares.
