It was a packed house Tuesday afternoon at the Barbeque Pit as several hungry customers got their long awaited Barbecue fix.

But last month the restaurant voluntarily closed its doors after selling meat linked to a recent E.coli outbreak.

Owner Ruth Hall says she never imagined they would be closed for an entire month, which she says hurt the family business financially.

"When you spend ten, twelve thousand dollars a day it'll tear you up, takes everything, as far as how much we lost- we lost a lot,"said Ruth Hall.

The Restaurant re-opened Saturday after test results came back negative. Hall says business picked up immediately all thanks to her loyal customers.

"That man walks in the door, comes in everyday and he's going to join a guy who comes in every day so the repeat customers are what we've had and what we're thankful for," said Ruth Hall.

"I haven't eaten any barbecue since they closed so I'm glad for them to open back up," said loyal customer Rick Lott.

"Its nice to see a good atmosphere restaurant open back up, you know i hate that the circumstances happened the way they did but I'm very pleased," said Tony Martin, who has been coming to the Barbeque Pit for over 20 years.

Hall says its her loyal customers that make the Barbeque Pit what it is, and thanks to their support its been easier to put on a smile and bounce back.

The owner says she also feels very fortunate that all but one of her employees stuck with her throughout the entire ordeal.
