Two children are still in recovery following an accident at the hands of a drunk driver.
Police say 26-year-old Shaun Washington was operating a vehicle under the influence with five children inside.
An 11-year-old was sitting behind the steering wheel, but with Washington Manning at the controls, police say.
It all happened around eight o'clock Wednesday night at the Astoria Arms apartment complex off Hartsfield Road. All but two of five children sent to the hospital were released as of Thursday afternoon. Injuries ranged from a broken ankle to a scratch on the head.
"One of the four factors with alcohol is your judgment. This is just an indication that he was not thinking about what would have happened if the 3,000 pound vehicle went out of control,” says Tallahassee Police INV John Pretti.
Washington is being held at the Leon County Jail without bond. His charges include five counts of DUI and driving with a suspended license. Washington was also charged with a DUI back in March of this year.
