Annual Frenchtown Explosion

An annual community event explodes right in the heart of Frenchtown.

People of all ages came out Saturday afternoon to 4th and Macomb Streets, enjoying games, live entertainment and plenty of food.

The Frenchtown explosion keeps organizers busy planning all year long, but they say it's worth it, especially for the kids.

Robert Lewis, an organizer, says, "A lot of our kids are known as second class citizens so we're trying to bring them up to let them know they can be number one citizen and let them know that we love them."

Clothing drives held throughout the year were distributed at the event. There was also a health fair where people were able to get educational information.
