Local Firefighters are Real Lifesavers

A crew of Meigs Georgia paramedics were honored today for their lifesaving efforts of a woman who came close to death last year.

A certain bond that started last year for Debra Smith, while at work, she collapsed and her heart stop beating.

"My family was so scared, didn't know if I was dead or alive,” Smith recalls.

Thanks to these four lifesaving Meigs volunteer paramedics, Debra is lucky to be alive.

Crew leader Tim Coram says if it weren’t for the AED, that literally Debra wouldn’t even be here today.

After months of rehab, debar finally back at work, where she says she belongs. But she also says not a day goes by where she isn't thankful for all these brave men.
