Fraternity Hazing Suspects Sue FAMU

Five FAMU students arrested for hazing are now suing the university, saying they have every legal right to finish this semester and graduate.

A civil lawsuit was filed late last week on behalf of the five Kappa Alpha Psi brothers who are charged with felony hazing.

Two of them, Michael Morton and Brian Bowman, are slated to graduate at the end of the month. The suit contends the students were not notified in writing of their suspensions from school, or given a hearing, which the suit says are both required under the school's own due process rules.

The suit demands a prompt court hearing so this can be resolved and the students can finish their courses and take their finals.

We are still trying to reach the Kappa's attorney for comment and the legal counsel at FAMU, with no luck so far.
