Authorities have identified a man who collapsed and died in front of a deputy Thursday night, the victim of an apparent murder.
Leon County detectives say 39-year-old Daryhl Martin died on the scene after staggering towards the deputy's car. It happened in the intersection of Old Bainbridge and Fourth Avenue.
Detectives suspect foul play and are working to name a suspect. Martin's family members are asking for witnesses to step forward.
Mary Austin, the victim's aunt, says, "I hope that someone saw what happened if they would please come forward so that we can solve this case, so my nephew can rest and we can rest as a family."
Deputies have not yet revealed how Martin died. At last word the autopsy was still underway.
