Bill Reeves of “We the People” said the nuclear regulatory commission has become nothing more than a lobbying arm for the nuclear industry.
And since the president wants to make it easier to build new nuclear power plants, Reeves said that only increases the chances of an accident or mishap.
“It is very likely that we will have significant nuclear accident in our country, sooner than later, unless we change the way that we regulate the nuclear power industry,” he said.
The founder of “We the People” said they’ve already gathered evidence that shows counterfeit or substandard parts are being used in 72 American nuclear plants.
That information was turned over to the feds more than 20 years ago, but there was never a formal investigation.
