Members of law enforcement held a press conference Friday at Godby High School in Tallahassee to discuss the importance of buckling up in your truck.
The Florida Department of Transportation is kicking of a campaign throughout Florida.
According to the National Traffic Highway Safety Commission, pick-up truck drivers and their passengers are among the least likely motorists to regularly wear safety belts.
"I think bringing out the trucks that may have been wrecked will work more than talking about it because they can see firsthand what has happened due to wrecks in trucks," said Jordan Hopkins, a Godby High School junior.
Reportedly in 2004, Florida had the highest number of pick-up truck fatalities among the eight southeastern states, with 343 deaths.
