The Quick Job Training Program is designed to address those in TCC’s service area who are impacted by ongoing state and local government budget cuts, said John Chapin, Vice President for Economic and Workforce Development (EWD).

“The intent is to provide opportunities for people being squeezed out of their jobs and for incumbent employees who don’t have enough work,” said Chapin. “We’re also putting this out there because so many people are unemployed or underemployed.”

All the courses are affordable and to be completed within 90 days. Many carry national certification, and each person who completes a course will be offered the Ready to Work certificate program as part of the package.

Two of the courses, Solar-thermal Hot Water Heating Technician and Photovoltaic Solar Energy Technician, start Aug. 25. Medical Transcription and Medical Billing and Coding are online courses that begin whenever the student is ready. CompTia A+ Certification Prep Courses begin online Aug. 20, Sept. 17 and monthly thereafter. On Sept. 2, courses start in HVAC Helper, Electrician Helper, Plumber’s Helper and CNC Machining Operator. The Medical Front Office online course begins Sept. 2.

Information sessions for interested students will be held Aug. 26 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. in Room 123 of the EWD building on TCC’s main campus and Aug. 28 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in EWD Room 105.

All offerings may be viewed in detail at www.QuickJobTCC.com. Going forward, more programs will be added. For more information, call (850) 201-8760.
