They're hoping the bust will lead them to more drugs.
Deputies arrest 27-year-old Clarence Hawkins Jr. on Tuesday for selling crack cocaine out of his Tallahassee apartment complex.
They found 29 grams of the drug along with $1,000 in cash inside his home.
Deputies say their investigation doesn't stop with Hawkins.
"It was a smaller level but in fact it still was trafficking cocaine and it will make a dent. It’ll take a piece of this pie. It might be a sliver for now but this will lead to a bigger piece and to a bigger piece and hopefully we'll get the entire organization or his supplier out of the picture,” comments Sgt. Chris Chase, of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say children often played just feet from where Hawkins allegedly sold drugs.
