Faulty brakes and steering wheel problems are just a few of the mechanical issues Gadsden County deputies endure while driving around town, and they say it's become an "arresting" problem.
Deputies say the old cars are constantly being repaired and most have upwards of 200,000 miles.
County commissioners now have the wheels in motion, helping the sheriff's office purchase 35 new cars totaling $268,000.
The new cars will mean more safety for officers who put their lives on the line for Gadsden County citizens. The new fleet should be in by September, and the county expects to auction off the old cars.
