Grady Zoning Revisited

You don't have to look far to see signs of growth popping up throughout Grady County. And that's why the Grady Chamber Of Commerce and Joint Development Authority are teaming up to call for change.

It’s a process that would start by having a zoning plan drawn up by the Regional Development Center in Camilla. But some commissioners say they fear a zoning plan will hurt the value of farmland. They say sitting on agriculturally zoned land would hit farmers in the pocket book if they decide to sell.

So while commissioners aren't making any guarantees on the heels of the latest zoning request, it's a topic that's, for now, back on the county's radar.

Currently most land use regulations in Grady County address how close developments can be to roads and other buildings.
