Tased and Confused No Longer

A bill passing through the Florida House and Senate establishes statewide guidelines on when and how tasers should be used.

If the governor signs off on this bill, law enforcement officers will only be able to use a taser on someone who is actively resisting arrest, being aggressive or trying to escape.

If the bill becomes law, it would be one of the first taser laws implemented nationwide. Under the bill, every officer armed with a taser would now have to go through training.
