On May 5, the Mexican Victory over the French Army, Gadsden County's migrant education hosted its annual Cinco de Mayo festivities and invited Mexican native and first lady, Columba Bush.
The event is a history lesson depicted through dance, music and art showcasing the heritage and culture of the Mexican community. It's an event the whole family will enjoy.
First Lady Columba Bush said, "It's been a great experience; the children did a superb job, the music is fabulous. I'm very happy to be here."
The festivities continue Friday night at 7:30 in the Leaf Theatre in Quincy. Money raised from the event goes to support scholarship programs.
