Their goal is to raise more than $2,000.
Friday, Buck Lake students took shots at dunking "the penny pincher," a teacher and member of the school's Relay for Life team, and many of the students' aim was on point.
Patti McMullen said, "The kids met the goal and exceeded the goal of $2,500, so now we get to take turns dunking the penny pincher."
The penny pincher character was one of three superheroes created by a few of the school's teachers to rev up the penny drive.
So far this year, Buck Lake students have raised $15,000 for charity.
