A man accused of a deadly hit and run that claimed the life of a FAMU student on graduation night will soon go to trial.
Thirty-five-year-old Willie James Smart was in court Friday morning and rejected a plea deal, so attorneys began to choose a jury for his upcoming trial.
By mid-afternoon they had agreed on eight jurors to hear the case.
Smart is accused of running over 24-year-old Allen Rasberry on Lafayette Street last May and then fleeing the scene.
