DAYTON, Ohio (AP)
A mother in Dayton, Ohio, has been found guilty of killing her month-old daughter by burning her in a microwave oven.
The jury announced its verdict Friday in the retrial 28-year-old China Arnold. She was found guilty of aggravated murder and faces the death penalty when sentenced.
Arnold was accused of killing Paris Talley in 2005. A judge declared a mistrial in February.
When the verdict was read Friday, Arnold showed no reaction and then lowered her head, looking down at the defense table. Relatives in the courtroom cried and covered their faces with their hands.
Prosecutors say Arnold intentionally put her baby in the microwave oven and cooked the child to death after a fight with her boyfriend. Prosecutors say the couple had argued over whether the boyfriend was the biological father.

I understand that most everyone feels that this mother deserves the same cruel and unjust punishment as this baby endured. I feel that there should be less pressure on the FCAT in high school and more emphesis on birth control and classes with the worse case scenerio, instead of a fake baby that cries, what about real life, handicapped children and toddlers that tug at your legs all the time. Teens these days think its a fashion statement to carry a baby. Make them take classes like you have to before you get married. There are so many wonderful couples in the world that long for a child to have as their own. Laying blame on race shows what our world is coming to. If you take a look in our prison systems, I think its pretty equal. As far as the mother, yes, I believe she should get the death penalty quick and not let the state support her for years on end. We need more prayers to keep this world safe for all the children.
