After a week of weapons of mass destruction response training, the group was faced with a mock disaster.
It all began with a car versus truck and trailer accident, responders found an unknown substance.
This field exercise culminates a week of training for state health and emergency operations personnel. Several of the participants are from the Tallahassee Fire Department.
The goal of the hazardous materials incident is to see how well workers handle tasks such as decontamination and victim recovery
State health officials say this type of training is relatively new to them.
The whole week of training was coordinated by TCC’s Economic and Workforce Development. Participants of the class will receive an overall critique of their performance.
