Former Georgia Schools Superintendent Linda Schrenko is headed to prison.
In the midst of her federal trial, Schrenko pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering.
Schrenko was accused of embezzling nearly $600,000 in federal money meant for Georgia schools, and using it to not only fund her failed campaign for governor, but also to pay for a facelift.
A U.S. District Judge sentenced Schrenko to eight years in prison as part of a last minute plea deal. She also waived her right to appeal.
