Hundreds of troop supporters came out to the Capitol, waving flags and wearing yellow ribbons. They are symbols of remembrance for the family of Staff Sergeant Robert Ortega. A war in Iraq keeps him separated from his family, but through the little things like t-shirts and buttons his spirit is always near.
"I'm proud of him. He is my baby brother, I love him and I know God is with him," said Jennifer Jones, Robert Ortega's sister.
"You never know when your child is born how God is going to use him," said Connie Ortega. "I know God is with him and all the other troops."
Pride is what many folks at Saturday's Rally felt as they lined the Capitol greens to remind those passing by of the sacrifice made by their children, spouses and siblings.
