Former Superintendent Headed to Prison

In the midst of her federal trial Wednesday, Schrenko pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering.

Schrenko was accused of embezzling nearly $600,000 in federal money meant for Georgia schools and using it to not only fund her failed campaign for governor, but also to pay for a facelift.

A U.S. district judge sentenced Schrenko to eight years in prison as part of a last minute plea deal.
