TCC students have an important task to take care of before heading home for the summer.

For the first time, the community college is allowing students to register early for fall.

Starting Monday, Tallahassee community college students cannot only register for
summer, but fall classes.

In the past, TCC President Bill Law says fall registration in august has almost swamped the system. He and Vice President of Academic Affairs Barbara Sloan say taking care of registration in April will ensure students get one on one advising.

But there lies another problem. Sloan says more than a third of TCC’s student body does not return between spring and fall.

Tameshia Martin, who is set on finishing up at TCC, says this will help her stay on track.

And as for fall classes getting cancelled, Dr. Law says there's only a very small chance.

Students who register early will still be allowed to drop and add classes over the summer.
