Support for a proposed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage in Florida falls short, but within range, that's according to a Quinnipiac University poll out today.

The constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage in Florida needs a 60 percent voter approval to pass. According to the new Quinnipiac University poll, Florida voters support an amendment that would define marriage as being between a man and a woman, 55 to 41 percent. That's slightly lower than the 58 to 37 percent support in a June 3rd survey.
Republicans support the amendment 76 to 21 percent, while Democrats oppose it 51 to 45 percent and independent voters oppose it by a similar 51 to 44 percent margin.
An assisting director for the polling institute says the 55 percent overall support for the same-sex marriage ban is a bit surprising, especially given that similar amendments have already passed in a dozen other states. But you can bet backers of the amendment will use the next eight weeks leading up to the November election to try and close that five point gap.
The poll also reveals Governor Crist retains his 61 to 25 percent job approval rating.

Hi "Me", it's not my opinion...it's the Word of God. If there are any who disagree it wouldn't be with me :) but the truth based on the Word of God.
Don't worry folks, homosexuality is not transmitted through the air. Mind your own business and leave other people alone. Allow other people to live their own lives, not yours. There are so many people out there that claim to be so righteous, but when they get under the microscope, they are as bad as the rest, sometimes worse. AWMS-Your last sentence was clever. You "pre-empted" the condemnation of someone being the devil's puppet for possibly disagreeing with you. Did the devil make you do it? Just kidding! There is nothing wrong with your opinion, because it's yours...
The difference between animals and humans is the self-awareness that humans have. I believe we also have free will, so I am not sure I would claim that God created same sex relationships. It is true Christians believe in the sanctity of marriage, but if you read the bible you will see God did make provisions where a person can divorce, God did not make provisions to commit homosexual acts. That being said, the Bible does not teach condemnation and hate towards anyone much less homosexuals. The Bible does teach us to hate sin and love the sinner and that all sin is equal. By the way, can someone please tell me what the definition of a bible thumper is? I looked in the encyclopedia and could not find it.
