Many Americans remember 9/11 as if it were yesterday--but some kids might have been too young to understand it or not even born yet.
That's why many schools, including Deer Lake Middle School, have the black day explained in detailed history lessons. And one history teacher doesn't just go into the tragic day, but the before and the after as well.
Vince Cartwright, a History Teacher at Deer Lake said, "Like we tend to do sometimes, we kind of forget about what happened and I think it's very important that every year the kids learn about what's happened, why it's important and how it affects them, and actually, how it affects their future."
In addition to power points--teacher's also have new edition text books that also tell the tragic story of 9/11.
