Naked Man Walks Dog in Tallahassee

A 40-year-old man, walking his dog in the nude, was tased by police when he refused to follow an officer's commands.

David McCranie of the Tallahassee Police Department says an officer on patrol spotted the man shortly after 8 p.m. Friday at the 2200 block of Hartsfield Road.

The man was asked what he was doing and told the officer, "Allah told me to watch a Bruce Willis movie and walk the dog,'' McCranie said.

The man became hostile and was clearly in need of mental health services. Because of his mental status and his threats to officers, police had to deploy a taser.

McCranie said using the taser was the only way to subdue the man without having to hurt him. The man was then sent for mental health evaluation and treatment.

No injuries were reported.

The man was not charged with indecent exposure because he had mental health issues, so it does not qualify as a crime.

I saw a naked guy on 27 near Lake Jackson on Saturday morning (9/20). I wonder if it was the same guy. He wasn't walking a dog, he was just walking along the road. Thank God my kids didn't see.

Yep, send him to Apalachee Center.....remember, their former Medical Director dropped his clothing and showed it all to police not once but, TWICE! Apalachee is the place to be...drop your clothes and let it all hang free...

Lisa. Im sorry for the comments I made earlier. Natural nudity is beautiful as long as it is in a private setting. Sorry I came across so harsh earlier.

Lisa. Good God I hope you and your family only pratice the nude thing either in your own (back yard) or at a designated area. because I really dont want to see it. And If i saw you or your daughter walking nude down the street i would call the police and hope that your husband would not come bail yall out at the police station nude to prove a point. that is wonderful that you feel comfortable, but some people really dont want to see everything especially a complete stranger. get over yourselves......

I know someone who knows this man. The police did not just "come upon" this man. He was wearing a tracking device. The police had been notified that he was out of his designated area and where he was. This man definately has mental issues. He was wearing the tracking device because there is a restraining order against him for stalking.

Let it had been a black man, see if the responds would have been the same or if the color would have been announced.
