Thera Mae Sands body was found in a garbage can. Police say she was stabbed in the neck with a sharp object.
Ever since they discovered her body, they've been looking for her grandson. They say he may be armed and dangerous and staying in Tallahassee because both he and his grandmother have family here.
Police say when 30-year-old John Newton Sands III didn't show up for a court appearance last Friday, his brother, a Deputy in Columbia County, became suspicious.
That same day, Sands was caught on camera cashing a check at a bank in Gainesville.
Since then officers all over the state including in Tallahassee have been looking for him in connection to the case.
Saturday afternoon family and friends said their final farewells to Thera Mae Sands originally from Madison County.
