Depleted Food Banks

A slow economy, uncertainty over the war, and thousands of military reservists being called to action, are putting a strain on the Florida food banks.

The number of donations to food banks across the state is down 30 percent since the beginning of the year, but the number of people seeking food assistance is up 15 percent. The food banks are calling the situation a crisis.

If you would like to make a donation of cash or food, call your local food bank.
