The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office says 26-year-old David Lawton had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old Valdosta boy.

The boy told officials they had a relationship from January to June of this year.

Officials say the two met on a website.

Authorities investigated and Lawton was arrested at his home on Monday.

He was a student teacher at Southeast Elementary School.

Captain Wanda Edwards with the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office says, "Not only do you have the victim who is a child of the assault. But you also have the collateral victims who are the children that are left behind that had faith and trust in a teacher."

Lawton is charged with aggravated child molestation.

He's being held at the Lowndes County Jail without bond.

Lawton was a student at Albany State University.

A Valdosta City School official says Lawton no longer works at the school.
