A former Leon County coach got a big honor in the very building where he's credited for influencing so many young lives.
The Raa Middle School gymnasium has been dedicated to retired coach and principal Dave Taker. The gymnasium filled with family, students and educators.
Several former students and teachers shared stories about the impact Raker had on their lives.
"I appreciate the honor of having served here, the privilege of having served for 28 years. It's a great community, a great place to raise your kids. I'm flustered to be here," said Raker as his eyes became glassy.
Raker was given a custom made shirt, helmet, football, and a piece of the original gymnasium floor encased in glass.
