Attempted Murder Conviction

A Tallahassee man has just been sent to prison for stabbing a man nine times, and doing it so forcefully the blade lodged in his forehead.

Twenty-seven-year-old Divereon Lawson was convicted Wednesday of trying to kill Kenneth Armstrong last January.

Prosecutors contend just days after his release from prison, Lawson attacked Armstrong with a steak knife because he was dating his old girlfriend. Armstrong survived.

It took a jury less than two hours to convict Lawson, and he was promptly handed a life sentence.
