Area firefighters will spend the next two days giving motorists the 'boot.'
Until May 27, Tallahassee firefighters will hit the streets, collecting cash for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
For more than 50 years the International Association of Firefighters has partnered with the MDA. The money benefits MDA services and research programs, including MDA's free outpatient clinics at the Tallahassee Neurological Clinic.
"Folks in Tallahassee are great. They always support the Fire Department in the collection of the MDA funds. People are just great around Tallahassee and we appreciate the help. I'm sure the kids do as well," said Tallahassee Firefighter Tommy Aldridge.
Last year Tallahassee firefighters collected over $27,000. The goal this year is to exceed $30,000.
