An early morning accident Friday involving a truck and a train has a local truck driver facing charges.
The accident happened in Midway, Florida, west of Tallahassee. An official with the Florida Highway Patrol said truck driver Donnie Cruse parked his rock hauler on the tracks and left it unoccupied, and when he heard the train coming he rushed to try and move it, but it was too late.
"I saw the train coming shortly after that and I tried to get it moved, but there wasn't anything for me to do but hang on," said Cruse.
"He'll probably, most likely, be charged from the preliminary evidence and investigation for stopping on the railroad tracks, and that is about it," said CAPT Timothy Ashley with the Florida Highway Patrol.
Officials say the train was not carrying any hazardous materials at the time of the accident.
