Memorial Day weekend means fun with friends and family, but it also means more people on the roadways and more accidents.
The Southeastern Community Blood Drive was out in full force doing their part to help. They're in need of all types of blood, but especially O positive, O negative, and B positive, and with this being a holiday weekend, the blood center wants to make sure they have plenty of supplies in.
"There are more people on the roadways, which can cause more accidents. We want to make sure we have enough blood supply if those accidents should occur," said Eliza Leporin, the area blood drive coordinator.
Red Lobster hosted the blood drive and gave coupons to anyone who donated.
If you didn't give blood, your next chance will be Tuesday at the Tallahassee Mall in front of Goody's from noon to 3 p.m.
