Rural counties are losing their paramedics at an alarming rate. They are moving to bigger cities that offer higher pay and attractive benefit incentives. However, help is on the way for one local county.
North Florida Community College in Madison County is now offering a new program to help entice students to work in the field of Paramedics and stay at home.
School administrators say the school is conveniently located and offers opportunities for EMT’s to enhance their careers. North Florida Community College hopes its new program will be the cure for the decline in qualified paramedics in the county.
