A Florida State University graduate will be at the helm of the of post-war efforts in Iraq.

Back here at home, fellow Seminoles talk about the tough challenges Iraq’s future military governor and the U.S. soldiers have ahead of them.

Although the Pentagon has reported the major fighting has ended students at Florida State University held a rally Tuesday to show support for American troops.

Heading up the post-war effort is 1962 FSU graduate Jay Garner.

FSU history professor Max Friedman says the fellow Seminole and future military governor of Iraq has a huge assignment.

To sidestep blame and resentment, Dr. Friedman believes it would help if the United Nations played a greater role in this process giving the operation more of an international mission.

Either way, he says the end result lies with the Iraqi people.
