A new public library has come to fruition in one of our area communities.
Gadsden County commissioners were cutting the ribbon at Tuesday’s grand opening and dedication of the William A. "Bill" McGill Library in Quincy.
This is the main library of the Gadsden County public library system. It is located at 732 Pat Thomas Parkway.
Library officials say this is a tremendous addition to the community.
Jane Mock, director of the Gadsden County Public Library, said, "Anybody from the very young to the very old can come. We have materials for information. We have computers to use for school. We have easy-books to learn to read. We have adult literacy programs to help people that can't read well."
The library is dedicated to and named after former Gadsden County Commissioner William "Bill" McGill, who served for 12 years and was a known activist for education.
