Teen Report

A brand new sport has been added to the spring lineup. Florida's High School Athletic Association has now made flag football a sanctioned sport for girls.

The girls say you don't have to be especially talented to play the game. In fact, if you are willing to play hard and break a sweat, there is a place on the field for you. But flag football teaches these girls more than just capturing that coveted flag and making a touchdown. They say they're also learning important life skills.

And when it comes down to it, they aren't here to just play a game of throw and catch. They take this sport seriously and expect others to do the same.

Now these girls are hoping to score a state championship in the future. If you would like more information on how to be part of the flag football team next year, see your high school athletic director.

This is Stacy Vooten's second year of playing flag football for Lincoln High School and she enjoys all aspects of the game.
