Performance Food Group is partnering with America's Second Harvest. Wednesday they were at the Thomasville Wal-Mart from nine to five collecting food for the hungry.
Kids Cafe and the Thomas County Food Pantry are just two of the groups that will benefit. With so many food pantries blown away during Hurricane Katrina, officials say it's time to stock up for hurricane season.
Faye Meeks with Performance Food Group says, "In the event that there is a hurricane in our surrounding areas, or wherever America's Second Harvest is all over the nation, that those food pantries can be filled and help any of the areas affected by a hurricane that may happen."
If you didn't make it out to donate you still have Thursday and Friday to make donations at 110 North Lee Street in Thomasville.
They are looking for non-perishable items. For more information on how you can help, call Performance Food Group at 229-226-4331.
