Florida's migrant farm workers say they deserve to be treated like human beings. The workers rallied at the capitol Tuesday to drum up support for two bills.
One of the bills would hold property owners responsible for making sure contractors pay the workers living wages. The other bill requires employers to make sure workers know the dangers of farm pesticides they may be exposed to.
The workers say they need protection from abusive employers and working conditions.
The bill that would outlaw slave-like working conditions has not been heard in committee yet and the pesticide bill still has several committees to go with time running out in the legislative session.
